Overview
L3D was a community-driven civic healthcare initiative aimed at solving critical blood shortages in Egypt by connecting voluntary blood donors directly with emergency hospital requests and patient families in real time.
Contributed as a Technical Consultant and System Architect on a pro-bono volunteering basis. Formulated the system architecture, data models, and emergency matching workflows to enable fast, reliable dispatch of blood donation requests based on blood group compatibility, urgency tier, and donor geographic location.
Key Technical Contributions & Architecture
- ->Blood Group Compatibility Matrix: Modeled relational schemas encoding medical blood type compatibility rules (ABO and Rh factor) to ensure valid donor matching during urgent requests.
- ->Geospatial & Proximity Routing: Designed proximity-based matching logic to alert eligible donors closest to the requesting hospital or blood bank.
- ->Emergency Dispatch & Notifications: Outlined multi-channel alert workflows (SMS gateway and email dispatches) prioritizing critical emergency cases over routine replacement requests.
- ->Pro-Bono Technical Governance: Advised the volunteer engineering team on database normalization, API contract design, and data privacy safeguards for donor medical contact records.
